Pazin – center of Istria with a lot to see

Pazin, a town with a long and rich tradition is located in the centre of Istrian peninsula and is only around 30 kilometres away from the most famous tourist centres on the western coast.

The town of Pazin is equally alive during winter and summer, making it one of the most important economic centres in Istria.

Through the whole year, on the first Tuesday every month, there is an interesting fair called “Pazinski Samanj” where people from all over Istria come to present their handmade products.

The most popular natural monument of Pazin is Pazin Cave, a big and deep pit which is one of the most interesting natural forms in Istria. The great experience is just moments away from the town center and provides an unforgettable experience, and also offers various contents for exploring the area, such as a zip line, adventure caving etc.

There is also a lot of history in the town of Pazin since his first mention dates back to year 983. This area being known for its rich history and various reigns and kingdoms that presided in Istria and Croatia in general, there is a lot of historical monuments all around town. Some of them are The Castle of Pazin, The Church of St. Nicholas, The Franciscan Monastery, Bishop’s Seminary etc.
